With the fish now hooked, it's time to watch your Tension. As this happens, click the right mouse button to pump your rod and hook your fish. When the time is right, you'll get a Strike! notification in yellow across your page. As a fish approaches and starts to take a bite, you'll receive a noise notification like a little jingle as the bait bobs up and down in the water. You'll already have bait attached, so no need to worry about that. To catch a fish, you want to repeat the steps above for casting your line out. Repeat this two more times, and then it's time to catch your very first fish of the game. If you want to reel your line in faster, you can also hold down Shift. Once you've done this, Sophia will ask you to reel your line in by pressing the left mouse button. While still holding the left mouse button, push the mouse forward (quite quickly, as if you don't you'll get a notification that says cast too slow) and release the left mouse button to throw your line out. To cast with your Rod, hold down the left mouse button and pull the mouse back. Go right to the end of the Jetty, then take out your Rod by pressing 1. First, she'll ask you to move over to the Jetty in the north.
When you load in, Sophia the Shopkeeper and Taylor's Tackle will speak to you and begin to give you directions.
Create your angler, then get ready to hook your first fish! The options are fairly limited for character customization at this point, but you'll be able to purchase more apparel at the shop once you begin the game.
Before you spawn in the Golden Ridge Reserve, you'll be able to customize and create your character.
